Our life as a military family is a thrilling journey that continuously strengthens our family bonds and broadens our horizons. Having resided in numerous states together, we love uncovering the unique qualities of each place we call home. We wholeheartedly embrace the adventurous spirit of military life, finding immense joy in every new destination and the connections we make along the way. ABOUT EVAN:  I fell deeply in love with Evan for countless reasons, but foremost among them is his pure heart, overflowing with kindness and affection, unafraid to openly express his love and share his emotions. He possesses a remarkable intellect which never fails to amaze me.  Evan's unwavering honesty and loyalty are pillars of strength in our relationship. His moral compass guides him with unwavering integrity, a trait that I truly admire and respect. Evan thinks he is very funny, and even his worst dad jokes can bring a smile to your face. He is the nickname king, always coming up with new and inventive sweet nicknames for all of our family members. He is not only a good man, but an exceptional one— a devoted husband and a loving father. His presence fills our home with warmth, laughter, and an abundance of love, making every moment with him a cherished blessing.

ABOUT KATIE:  I love Katie for her unwavering dedication to helping others find happiness, her ability to take ownership of any situation, and her compassion. I love her humanity and feel incredibly fortunate to be part of her world. Katie's character and approach have profoundly impacted me and our daughter. Her core values remain constant, only growing stronger with every act. Those around Katie are inspired to become better versions of themselves. I love her and am immensely proud of her for that.  Katie is also an exceptional listener, eager to help and learn from others. This quality is integral to her character and natural approach. Her positive impact on others stems from this ability. By humbly sharing her soul in two-way communication, she effortlessly builds trust with those around her.

ABOUT KEIRA:  Our 4 year old daughter Keira is a fun-loving and sweet girl with a wide array of interests that keep her happily engaged. She has a natural talent for painting and reading, and she lights up when she's dancing, practicing gymnastics, or playing soccer. Keira's friendly nature means she makes a new best friend everywhere she goes. Her kindness shines through in her actions, and she always has a kind word to say about everyone. She prays for a sibling every evening and cannot wait to share her interests. With her caring and thoughtful nature, Keira has all the qualities to be a wonderful big sister.

Career/Occupation:

Evan and I serve in the United States Military because we are dedicated and humble leaders committed to lifting those around us. Serving in the military requires immense sacrifice and dedication, and while many do so out of a deep passion for our nation, our driving force is our passion for the people around us. We value freedom and autonomy, believing that everyone deserves the opportunity to grow and develop as individuals. This commitment to supporting and empowering others shapes our approach to both our military service and our personal lives.

Home/Community:

Our neighborhood is a vibrant and family-friendly place with multiple parks, playgrounds, a swimming pool, and frequent special events for kids. It's the kind of place where you can't go anywhere without making new friends. Being part of a larger military family also means that our supportive military community follows us wherever we go, giving us the chance to meet incredible people and form lasting friendships. We love celebrating the unique aspects of each place we live. Here in California, we especially enjoy the sunshine, beautiful weather, and proximity to the beach - and of course Disneyland. Our community provides an environment perfect for raising a family and creating lifelong memories.

Our extended family is a loving network that plays a central role in our lives. Between Evan and Katie, we have three sisters, two brothers, one niece, three nephews, four wonderful grandparents, and countless cousins. We cherish open, loving relationships with all our family members. Evan's side of the family is beautifully diverse, blending African American and Italian heritage. We stay closely connected with our families, FaceTiming at least once a week and texting daily to share updates and stay involved in each other's lives. Both our families are incredibly supportive of our adoption journey and are eager to help us in any way they can. Their unwavering support and love will provide a strong, nurturing network for our growing family.

Interest/Hobbies:

We are big book nerds. We are athletic and enjoy running or going on family walks.  We cherish our family time with our immediate family and with our extended families. Katie enjoys cooking, painting, writing, and graphic design. Evan enjoys working out and reading. The majority of our free time is family time and we love finding activities we can all enjoy from playing board games to visiting the park.

Personal Values:

Evan and I share a deep love for learning. Both of us have earned master's degrees and find immense joy in reading and writing. Our passion for continuous growth drives us to constantly seek new knowledge and skills. Evan plans to pursue a second master's degree, while Katie enjoys taking courses in subjects like graphic design and creative writing. One of our favorite family outings is to our local library. We are delighted that our passion for learning has passed on to our daughter, who loves exploring new topics. Together, we watch informative videos or search for books to deepen our understanding. Our dedication to lifelong learning enriches our lives and creates a dynamic, intellectually stimulating environment for our family.

Parenting:

Our approach to parenting centers on the belief that mistakes are valuable opportunities for learning. We love to explore and experience new things together as a family, believing that the best way to learn is by doing. We involve Keira in most activities, whether it's helping Mom cook in the kitchen or assisting Dad with outdoor chores. By sharing methods on how to be independent and autonomous, we empower Keira to feel a sense of responsibility. We strive to be patient parents who talk through emotions and feelings, helping all of us learn to manage our emotions better. We prioritize health by staying active and eating a diverse variety of foods, always open to trying new things. We believe this approach will help our children grow up loving themselves and establishing a sense of purpose in life.
