Fire Relief Drive-Through Supply Giveaway

January 25th, 11am to 3pm

3200 Motor Avenue, Los Angeles, CA

The devasting losses of this past week have affected so many people, and here at Vista we are working hard to help.

On Saturday, January 25th, 2025 from 11-3:00 pm, on our Motor Ave campus, we are proud to host a collaborative community event in order to distribute hot meals and essential disaster relief supplies to those impacted by the recent fires.

We will provide attendees with new toys, food, diapers, wipes, hygiene products, pet food, bottled water, laundry soap, blankets, pillows, batteries, and other products as available. A limited number of gift cards will be given to those who have ID and proof of a fire-impacted address.

Our partners from all over California include: Tiny Pine Foundation, Butte County United, Life From The Ashes, Embassy Hope For The Heart Relief Center, BeXtra.org.

All of Vista’s programs remain fully operational, despite some of our staff members having been evacuated, and we are actively supporting our clients and the community at large during this difficult time.

Mental Health: All of our mental health programs remain open, and our clinicians are supporting our clients through this challenging time, including connecting them and their families to additional resources if needed.

We are working with the YMCA and have offered to provide mental health services to support community efforts.

Our Family Service of Santa Monica clinic has provided school-based mental health services to public schools in the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District for many years, and we are coordinating with them to offer students and families support and linkages to resources.

Residential Facilities: Our residential treatment facilities and shelter for immigrant minors are keeping our residents safe and providing mental health support.

Additionally, we have contacted licensing to see if we may temporarily house up to three families in need until they can return home or find a permanent place to live.

Special Education: Our school was temporarily closed, but classes resumed this week. We are providing counseling to all our students to help them cope with the trauma and stress, and we are connecting any families in need to additional resources.

Intensive Community Based Services: Our Early Head Start and Childcare programs in Hollywood, our Wraparound Services, and our Family Service of Santa Monica clinic are working with partner organizations to connect clients to resources and donation centers, including Baby2Baby to distribute diapers and formula to clients and the communities that are in need.

For Vista staff affected by the wildfires, we are offering flexible schedules and remote work options wherever possible. Additionally, our Employee Assistance Program is available 24/7 to provide counseling and emotional support, and we are encouraging all staff to take advantage of this resource.

Thank you for your support! It is only through the generosity of donors like you that we can continue not only to operate our regular programs but also to actively contribute to the community efforts during this challenging time.
