A Message from our President & CEO
I am aware that the current circumstances has had a profound impact on all of you, emotionally and physically. As many of you, I have spent this weekend searching for words that can make sense out of all that is going on around us. Words to the people that we love that can bring comfort, peace and assurance that everything will be okay. Words as a mother and leader, that would offer a sense of security and yet inspire hope in moving forward. The truth is that there are no words alone that can accomplish all of those things. Instead it has to be a combination of both our words and our actions. Words and actions that show as a community Vista Del Mar believes in the equality of people of color and will be a champion of justice for all. As an organization we will continue to advocate to change systems that promote racial inequities and that divides us as a community. As an organization we must continue to evaluate ourselves and make sure that we show those we serve that we are inclusive of all people regardless of race, gender, religion or sexual orientation. Our actions must be louder than our words. We are a community that has been here to support some of the most vulnerable children and families and we will continue with even more conviction that our actions can make this world a better place. Thank you all for working so hard to make the VDM a community of action!
“We all should know that diversity makes for a rich tapestry, and we must understand that all threads of the tapestry are equal in value no matter what their color.”

Vista Del Mar Child and Family Services takes great pride in providing exceptional programs and services for children with mental health disorders throughout LA County. Our precious population consists of some of the most vulnerable children and families in Los Angeles; many of whom are black and have faced inequalities in epic proportions. In light of recent events, it is important our community and supporters know that we stand with the vital fact that black lives matter and are steadfast in our efforts to improve upon the lives of our clients through our work and through our hearts.
