Erick & Connie

We are filled with gratitude for the generosity and act of self-donation you are considering. No words can describe the respect we have for you at this moment. Our hearts and prayers go out as you lovingly search for the best future for your child. It is our hope that we can be the best reflection of your love for your baby now and always.

About Erick & Connie

We met in acting class in Portland, OR. We were best friends first and went on many auditions together. One thing led to another and we turned our “on screen” romance into a real life “happily ever after”! We love going to Disneyland, listening to country music, watching movies, and following our favorite sports teams. We also enjoy spending time with family and friends, going on walks as a family, and the occasional night out. In the summer of 2014 we were placed with a foster baby from Los Angeles County. Even though we had her for only 2 1/2 months, we loved her like our own and cherished the time we had with her. This experience showed us that we were definitely ready and able to be the great parents we hope to be. Our teamwork and cooperation came through during this time.

About US:

Our Home:
We currently live on campus at UC Irvine in the graduate family housing. It’s a cozy 2 bedroom town home that’s a close walk to parks and restaurants. The university provides a variety of family support services from daycare to after school programs. It’s a safe community in one of the safest cities in the U.S. and the best part is that we’re only 30 minutes from Disneyland! When Erick finishes grad school, we plan to move to Orange where we hope to settle down near their historic downtown. We just love that old town feel and to be able to walk anywhere.

Meet Erick:

Erick is so patient and loving. I feel so spoiled because he prepares my breakfast and lunch every morning. He leads us in prayer at the start of every day and gives me massages when I come home from a long day of work. He is funny, loves to help people, and is very calm and peaceful.

Meet Connie:

Connie is the most loyal person I’ve ever met. Her generous heart continually inspires me. I always get a warm feeling in my heart when I think about how she puts me and others before herself. She is also great at finding moments of joy in the little things and has taught me not to sweat the small stuff. She loves celebrating birthdays and finds fulfillment in making people as happy as they can be on their special day.
Our Family:

We have received so much support from our loved ones in our path to adoption. For example, they held a baby shower for us so that we can be prepared for the little one. The nursery is ready to go! Our friends also have very strong faith and family values. We hope to surround our children with this community to create a sense of belonging. Activities and get togethers with these families are frequent and we are sure exposure to this will enrich the lives of our children.

We find that our strength comes from our faith and without it we would not be able to be as strong as we are. The respect that we have for the dignity of every human person comes from our Christian faith. For us, our relationship with God is a normal, natural part of our lives. Just as much as we live our lives to the full by enjoying as much that is has to offer, we likewise live out our faith as full as we can as an ordinary part of our lives.

Holidays are often spent in San Diego with Connie’s brother and his family. We always enjoy being with our nephews and niece! Every year we make sure to visit family and friends in Oregon. Perhaps the best part of those trips is time with Connie’s grandma at the retirement home.

Our friends and family share our love for Disneyland and they often join us at the parks. We have so much fun sharing the Disney magic with them!

Our Thoughts on Parenting:

The most important thing we want our children to experience is security. We believe that primarily comes from being in a safe home where mom and dad love each other unconditionally. We have strong family values and prioritize them over money, reputation, and material things. It will be our intention to give the very best to our children, but raising them into the best version of themselves they can be is more important. We both will be active in the lives of our children and will work together to be consistent in their upbringing.
