Siavosh & Danielle
Before we introduce ourselves we just want to take a moment to say that we acknowledge you and the strength it takes to consider adoption. We sincerely hope you are doing well and we look forward to the possibility of getting to know you.
We are Danielle and Siavosh but you can call us Dani and Sia! We would like to start off by saying that we are always rooting for you and really appreciate the time you are taking to review our profile. We know that this decision comes from the vast amount of love and care that you already have for your baby. We will be in your corner to support you and encourage you along your journey.
We hope that you will get a small glimpse into our lives with our daughter and sweet dog, Mila. We have always known that we’d build a fun-loving family and that children were always going to be part of our story.
Whether you choose to parent, choose us, or another family, we believe that you are so strong and are positive that you will select the right home for you and your child. We look forward to hopefully meeting you one day and being part of your story.
Dani & Sia
About Siavosh & DanielleWe met in 2011 when one of Dani’s good friends from high school started dating Sia’s brother. A few months later we began dating! In 2017, Sia proposed to Dani during a walk along the beach, just the two of us, followed by a surprise party with all of our closest family and friends. We’ve now been married since 2018 and have been together for nearly 10 years! In 2020 we welcomed our beautiful daughter into our family and are so excited to expand our family again - this time through adoption. We are truly partners, and our strengths and weaknesses perfectly balance each other out. Having fun together is one of the best parts of our relationship. No matter what we’re doing together, it’s always a great time! We both have a bit of wanderlust and love to travel. It’s fun to try all the local food and explore new cities together. We look forward to including our future kids in our traveling adventures! We also enjoy time with our friends and playing board games, especially Settlers of Catan. We both share a love for volleyball and a sweet tooth for donuts. We love our supportive and diverse community of friends and family who are so important to us.
Why We are Adopting:
We always imagined having multiple children. Both of us came from families with three kids and we wanted the same for our own family. We feel so fortunate to have our biological daughter, and not long after having her there was something in Dani’s heart that pulled her toward adoption. The decision for us to grow our family through adoption was an easy one, but is not one that we took lightly.
I grew up in the suburbs right outside of Los Angeles. My passion has always been kids. I became a teacher and grew passionate about giving kids tools to be active members of their communities. I always found it important to support their ideas, passions, creativity, and build their confidence to advocate for themselves.
When I have free time, I enjoy taking some time to do my hobbies, especially crafting with my Cricut (a neat cutting machine). My favorite thing to do is making matching shirts for our daughter and I (and hopefully soon for another little one too!Traveling with Sia is also something I deeply enjoy. Some of my favorite experiences include getting kisses from elephants in Thailand and swimming with bat rays in Bora Bora.
I was born in Iran, but grew up in the Los Angeles area. I don’t remember much from my time in Iran, but I’m inspired by my parents’ strength and courage to move to a completely new country to make a better life for their children.
I typically enjoy nerdy-type things like math, science, and technology. I am a software engineer and really love the critical-thinking challenges that my work offers. I find that keeping my mind engaged and stimulated is very important to me.
In my free time, I like to listen to different types of podcasts. Some of my favorites include I also enjoy being social and hanging out with friends and family. I have fun playing board games and an online card game called Hearthstone.
Our Home & Community:
We live in Southern California in a bright and open two-bedroom condo and love living less than two miles from the beach. We wish we could bottle up and share with you the things in our home that can’t be seen in pictures – the love and joy that radiate in our home every day; the sounds of non-stop giggling when our daughter is chasing our dog Mila and Sia around the house; the conversations at the table during family dinners; and the smell of blueberry waffles on a Saturday morning or sweet potatoes cooking for dinner. We enjoy cuddling up and watching our favorite tv shows and movies or reading a good book.
Living in a big city in Southern California is so beautiful because we are surrounded by so much culture and diversity, not to mention all the great food from around the world! There are tons of museums nearby, some dedicated just for kids. We are also lucky to have so many local libraries for us to visit. There are tons of community events around the city and local festivals throughout the year. But the best part of our community is that all of our family is close by!
One thing that makes us unique is our beautifully diverse families. Our melting pot of cultures makes for very unique family gatherings! Our friends reflect the same diversity as our family too, all coming from a variety of ethnicities, beliefs, and walks of life.
We have done an awesome job blending traditions from our different cultures for holidays. A few of our favorite traditions are celebrating Christmas, New Years, and Persian New Year. We hope that we will also be able to incorporate new traditions as we grow our family through adoption!
The values we hope to share with our children are kindness, empathy, integrity, honesty, and compassion. We hope that we can instill courage, perseverance, resilience, and determination to meet challenges when they arise in life and foster their creativity and curiosity.
As a family, we also value staying active together outside. One of our favorite things to do is go to one of the parks nearby and feed the ducks. We also enjoy our daily afternoon walks together, going for bike rides along the beach, or taking Mila to the dog park.
For this baby, our dreams are that they grow up to be happy, healthy, and confident in themselves. We want to give them the support and tools to pursue their passions in life, whatever they may be. We promise to be there on the rainy days when hardships arise and on the sunny days to celebrate their successes. We will always value them for their authentic selves and commit to being loving and accepting of all aspects of them. We will honor their culture and do our best to be sure they stay connected to their roots.
Before You Go:
Thank you again for considering us to nurture your precious baby. We are grateful you took a little bit of time to get to know us and our family. It is our hope that you are doing well during this challenging time and know that we are forever cheering for you, your health, and your happiness. If you choose us to parent your baby it will be such an honor. It is our promise that we will love, support, and guide your child through all the ups and downs of life.
From the Bottom of our Hearts,
Dani & Sia
